NNIA Launches The First 1 000 Days Nurses And Midwifes Academy In Zimbabwe

On Tuesday 28 August 2018, the NNIA launched the first ever 1 000 days Nurses and Midwifes Academy, attended by 99 nurses and midwives. The academy is an education initiative to promote healthy nutrition with a clear curriculum on the importance of nutrition in the first 1 000 days.
The programme is an NNIA initiative in partnership with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe (NCZ). The academy translates the latest science into practical nutrition and feeding advice, which gives nurses and midwives an opportunity to assist mothers with their babies so that their babies reach full potential to lead a happy, healthy and productive life.
