Can HMOs in preterm infant formula support healthy growth?

In this exclusive interview from ESPGHAN 2025, Dr. Boutaina Zemrani from the Clinical Research team at Nestlé, Switzerland, shares results from a clinical trial on the first two-stage Preterm Formula with HMOs and partially hydrolyzed protein. The study assessed the growth, safety and gastrointestinal tolerance of preterm infants from the first days following birth to 60 days after discharge. Findings show that the two formulas promote age-appropriate growth and good feeding tolerance.​
