The best nutritive source for babies is breast milk. Indeed, most babies require little else apart from breast milk for the first six months of their lives. The advantages of breastfeeding for the baby, mother and society are well known and amply supported by research. What is lacking and bedeviling is how to make breastfeeding a reality for all babies, all the time for the right length of time.
